Any celebration requires the guest to rent the Ocean suite for a minimum of two days. Cost of the venue is based on needs of the couple for a wedding, vow renewal, engagement, simple cook out, baby shower, graduation, or to a planned celebration of life. What ever your celebration needs, we can plan an event to meet your needs.

This allows you to choose and forget and just show up for your celebration, or customize it to your dreams. To book your Elopement /Vow Renewal Package, simply click on the link www.airbnb.com/h/hale-laulea-at-opihi-point-ocean and pick a date. If the date is open for the Ocean Suite, you can have your wedding. Airbnb will not instantly book your room, but send a request to me for your booking. Please send a message with your Airbnb request and in the message you state you want to book the Elopement Package. Once I am notified, I will approve you or message back to you through Airbnb and lock you into the suite. Cost of the suite for two nights at room rate is not part of the Elopement Package price. If you want additional guest to stay at Hale Laule'a for your ceremony, we have two additional suites, the Solar Suite and the Carriage Suite that may be available for your event. There will be a $500 refundable deposit required to hold your date for your event. After an initial consultation meeting, a cost estimate will be provided with a contract to finalize your event with the balance due 30 days from the event. If planning your elopement farther out than 6 months, use the contact button at the bottom of the page to book your Elopement Package.

Attached are some very easy steps to get married at Hale Laule’a at Opihi Point. Watch this video and follow these simple steps to get you ready for your big day.
1. Find a Venue for your Wedding or Celebration
a. Pick your package for your wedding / Elopement / Celebration at Hale Laule'a:
- 2 of you - Elopement Package
- 2 of you and up to 4 other people staying on Hale Laule'a - Destination Package
- 2 of you and 1 to 32 additional guest attending not staying at Hale Laule'a - Boutique Package
*To host a celebration at Hale Laule’a, you must rent the Ocean Suite of Hale Laule’a through Airbnb. The cost of your suite at Hale Laule'a is not included in the Package Price.
b. To book the Ocean Suite, go to this AirBNB link Ocean Suite. There must be an availability date on calendar for your booking to us host the celebration. There is a minimum of a two-night stay with a max of 4 nights for all celebration packages. If you would rather book directly with us, click HERE and leave us a message with date, contact information and your plans for your celebration. If you have questions or trouble with booking, call 808-479-1266. This accommodation is for the celebration couple only and is not part of celebration venue during the wedding. The celebration venue space is our Upper Garden and Shade Garden area only, or on approval our Lower Garden area.
2. Understand your celebration package and or need to find a Celebration Coordinator – All the packages come with standard items included to make this a simple process. You, though, can have what ever you want listed in the "extra" items. The package price does not include the coordination for the extra items. All coordination is the responsibility of the couple. Hale Laule’a highly suggests a professional wedding / celebration / event /party coordinator for all packages but requires one if booking the Boutique Package. The coordinator should handle all details outside of standard package offered items like flowers, music, food and drinks, reception cake, guests, and day of site management of the wedding. This is not negotiable.
3. Find a Performer for your Wedding. Performer must be licensed and registered in the State of Hawaii for a wedding for it to be legally registered in the state of Hawaii. Hale Laule’a’s recommended Performer is Corinne Allain. You must contact Corrine directly to reserve her for your event. Corinne Ann Allain, License Number #2020-23727 Phone : 808-339-0489 - corinneallain12@gmail.com. You are free to choose any Performer you wish.
4. Apply for a marriage or civil union license.
- Go online and register at https://marriage.ehawaii.gov . Fee is $65.
- You have one year from filing to have ceremony performed.
- Input your performer information on the form.
- Indicate you will be married on Hawaii Island at Hale Laule’a at Opihi Point.
5. Make an appointment to meet with an agent within 30 days of your wedding date to get your paperwork for a license. https://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/marriage-licenses/license-agents/ . The agent will issue paperwork that you will bring to the performer on the day of the event. - License Agents on Hilo Side:

6. Final Coordination - Contact your Performer to verify you have submitted for a license and have an appointment with a license Agent prior to the ceremony. Show up for the ceremony with your paperwork from the Agent for your Performer. The Performer will file for your license electronically after the ceremony and send you a copy as a temporary certificate. The state will mail you an official copy.
7. Photographer – We recommended Shelly Lynn Photography. Please contact Shelly Lynn directly through her website at www.shellylynnphotography.com to discuss your photography needs. You are free to choose any photographer you wish.
8. Music –You are welcome to book any musician you choose for your event. Additional cost for the performer’s setup needs may be incurred by the booking couple. Hale Laule’a does provide a Bluetooth input capable music speaker for the ceremony and reception music needs as an alternative to a live performer. Cost of Set up of a high quality music speaker is $150. This does not include the person to operate the speaker during the ceremony.
9. Audio – The wedding site is on the cliff edge of the ocean with waves crashing and a slight breeze. It is highly suggested to have a microphone for the ceremony if you are having guests or video recording of the event. Cost of setup of a microphone is included in package price.
10. Wedding Cake – Please coordinate through your wedding planner or the Hale Laule'a Venue Planner.
11. Flowers – Flowers provided in packages are set based on availability of the property gardens. All and any specific flower needs need to be coordinated through your wedding professional or through the Hale Laule'a Venue Manager.
12. Catering – Hale Laule’a does not provide any food preparation, catering, or food serving. Many restaurants do catering or onsite food prep to include serving. All Caterers need to be licensed, bonded, and be self contained meaning they will not use the kitchen of Hale Laule'a for food prep.
13. Alcohol and Beverage Station – Hale Laule’a does not provide alcohol for your event.
14. Parking and Security – Parking for your event is located onsite in a secure, gated area adjacent to the event location. Hale Laule’a also provides security for your event to ensure no issues arise. Both parking and security costs are included in the per guest charge listed in #1.
15. Insurance –The wedding couple must sign an indemnity agreement as part of the wedding contract accepting full responsibility for any accidents experienced by guests or vendors in the course of the ceremony and reception. Boutique events with guests who are not booked in a suite at Hale Laule’a are required to have insurance in order to host a ceremony. Special event coverage insurance policy with Philadelphia Insurance is approximately $175 and can be purchased at the following web site: https://www.phly.com/products/specialevents.aspx .
16. Additional Lodging – Hale Laule’a has two additional suites that are available for rent for your Hawaiian Celebration. If you are booking your event further than six months in advance, contact Hale Laule’a and the rooms will be blocked out for your use. If you are planning wedding less than six months, go directly to the links and see if the rooms are available for your needs.
17. Tents – Hale Laule’a is on the beautiful Hamaku'a Coast that can sometimes get unpredictable rain showers from the ocean. Most showers last only minutes and will not cause significant delay in your event. Tents are available for the ceremony.
18. Other – Many other items for your special event can be coordinated such as rehearsal dinner, party favors, hair and make up, special color coordinated flowers and table dressing, and anything you want. All special request or questions should go through the venue coordinator or your wedding planner.
